After retiring from a 30+ year career teaching and coaching (23 years at Coppell HS), I decided to start regularly strength training at Fit by Design. I wanted to get stronger and more fit so that I could enjoy my retirement days playing golf, pickle ball and playing with my grandkids. After a few months I noticed a drastic improvement in my overall fitness. My nagging hip pain i had for years was completely gone! In fact I was so impressed with my training with Kris I decided to become a personal trainer myself. I look forward to helping people of all ages achieve their fitness goals
Born and raised in the DFW area, James’ passion for fitness began more than 20 years ago when he joined the U.S. Army and served with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC.
James received his education from the National Personal Training Institute of Dallas obtaining a diploma in Practical Application, Nutrition and Anatomy. Certified as a Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, James is committed to helping others achieve their fitness goals by utilizing a wide combination of exercise techniques and nutritional guidance.
United States Air Force military veteran from 2006-2013. Ended up being discharged due to multiple service related injuries. He began his fitness journey in 2017 where he discovered Functional Patterns and is a verified Human Biomechanics Specialist - 1.

Elijah started lifting weights in high school and was hooked from the first pump. Always feeling skinny made bodybuilding seem like a perfect solution to boost his confidence. Before long, he found himself spending all day in the gym because he loved the environment and learning from others who were serious about lifting. After gaining his CPT cert he has mostly worked with individuals looking to gain strength and improve athletic performance.
Austin Simonds is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Association of Sports Medicine. Having found his passion for fitness early in his high school years, he spent much of his childhood and teenage years overweight and stricken with bad habits. Through determination, trial and error, and education, he overcame his many struggles and understands the challenges most people face when trying to achieve their fitness goals.
